Songs Of The Moment
My June playlist features songs that leans towards the rock genre. There was a month where hip-hop acts flooded my playlist. Another month, jazz and classical music. And yet another month, electronic music. I'm glad I don't dress like the artists I listened to. WIth different genres of music, I will look either like a complete wacko or unbelievably cool. Let's choose the latter option, shall we?

After an influx of new music introduced to me, I can't decide on one song to name it my Song Of The Moment; these songs are looped on the iPod every single day.

Do You Believe In Rapture? by Sonic Youth
My long time indie heroes produced a new album and I'm just blown away by the simple arrangement of beats and their trademarked and often copied sound; jangly guitars, set on overdrive.

Throw It All Away by Zero 7
It's their first single from the band's latest album, The Garden. I like the song for the happy, bouncy, guitar solo. Sounds a bit Spanish, and yes, it made me play air guitar when I play the song. The album doesn't disappoint either. Buy, buy!


And Then You Kissed Me (Part 2) by The Cardigans
I haven't had the pleasure to listen to Part 1 of the same title found in their earlier album; I'm glad not to have missed listening to Part 2 of the song.

I'm not a Cardigans fan until recently. I've always like female singers, and when Nina Persson voice and lyrics permeat my ears, it feels like she's whispering and baring herself with this song. And oh, the album cover is simply gorgeous. It shows her being photographed, lying on floor, immaculately dressed, posing as a dead person, but with a slight smile sunning her face.
