Some thoughts on personal growth
Forget about good. Good is a known quantity. Godd is what we all agree on. Growth is not necessary good. Growth is an exploration of unlit recesses that may or may not yield to our research. As long as you stick to good, you'll never have real growth.

Go deep. The deeper you go the more likely you will discover something of value.

Work the metaphor Every object has the capacity to stand for something other than what is apparent. Work on what it stands for.

Avoid software The problem with software is that evryone has it.

Don't clean your desk You might find something in the morning that you can't see tonight.

Think with your mind Forget technology. Creativity is not device-dependent.

Make mistakes faster Intel chief, Andy Grove said that.

Imitate Don't be shy about it. Try to get as close as you can. You'll never get all the way, and the separation might be truly remarkable.

Got all these gems from a book by Bruce Mau, titled Lifestyle. Look out for it, it's about how graphic design influence the way society lives. If you have time, head down to the National Library at Stamford Road, level 3. I flipped through a design book by Pentagram, whom I think is one of the best design firms in the world. They believe that to see whether an idea works, try telling one over the phone. If the person at the other end of the line gets it, hey, maybe you could try a couple more.

Drugs
a panacea for stress-related conditions: fatigue, headaches, addictions, hair loss, weight gain, repititive-stress injuries, attention deficit disorders, anxiety, depression, and even impotence.

Escalator
an endlessly looping consumer shuttle. First exhibited in Paris at the Universal Exposition in 1900, and sponsored by the Otis Company of America, the escalator streamlines shopping by making the vertical horizontal.

Flight
a self-propelled sealed capsule. The passenger sits, pressurized, motionless, while the world hurtles by outside.

Money
an increasingly immaterial substance. It flows ever faster, ever more invisibly.

It's about time people bother checking their own temperature and show more concern about the global weather.

Move over AudioGalaxy. Soulseek is here. One of the best P2P software around.

I'm impressed with Yale University website. If only local clients can see the light.

Phaeton. iPod. Casio. Rolex. Specialized. Nokia. Toshiba. What's in a name? I marvel at the way products are named. See I'm looking to find a suitable domain name for myself.

See this, admire. Timeless classiscs.

And oh yeah, just like what Ron had mentioned in her blog, Matrix Reloaded is pure crap. The music that accompanied the fighting scenes is really really bad. I think the 360 stop motion thingie is way outdated. And before the movie starts, Samsung aired 2 ads showing certain secenes from the movie....and it's all bad. Darkness Falls is better....not a must see, but acceptable.

I'm eyeing the new eMac....I guess white objects will always be my favorite stuffs.

I've got 2 sources that said Ridley Scott is the director for the 1984 ad, but read in a design book just now it was Tony Scott who directed it. Ah well, sibling rivalry will always be that. Just got Massive's new album. Saw it at HMV selling for $50 when it was released, but I bought my copy at Sembawang Music Centre. I'ts really questionable how HMV priced their items.

The Massive CD came with this feature that won't allow you to rip the music to mp3. Now how am I gonna transfer it to my iPod? I hope not all artiste will see this as a good thing.

Classic ad. Apple's "1984" commercial. Directed by Ridley Scott.

I dont, cant sleep.....

Smoking sucks when wind blows in your face.

If I'll get a tattoo...this would be it. Ever wonder how and why barcodes work? This site is for you.

no sooner than i've posted my previous post, i saw this nice site, combining art and technology.

Just finished a new book called The Lead Pencils Club. If you are a techie geek, read this book. I think the ideas and thoughts in the book are refreshing. The book is writtten by people who prefer to use simple technology over gadgets such as mobile phones, fax, email, PDA and even computers. Its like people choosing vinyl over a CD. Vinyl people get all worked up if you dissed them for not choosing CD.

I like working with a pencil before working on any projects. You can write, doodle; you can work just about anywhere without worrying about battery power. All you need is light. So where do I stand in this? I like tech stuff, as long as they serve my purpose and make my life a bit easier
