I am feeling...
In control now in my life, except for the smoking and coffeeing part.
I will not...
drink more than 4 cups of coffee everyday.
treat coffee beans as if they are candy (hah, kidding!)
think abt sex all the time.

Ladies and gentlemen, you are about to enter the TWILIGHT zone....plse tighten your guts :))
*Twilight Zone tune...nenenene nenenene..chingching...

Hah! Talking abt working alone at offices....
I was at Bluesphere's office on Sunday alone, when I heard someone coming up to the second floor. I thought that someone will come to the third floor, where I'm at, to say Hi. But no. No one came up and if there is someone down below, I expect that person shifting chairs or something right? But no. All I heard was footsteps.

I was abt to leave anyway so it doesn't matter. And horror of horrors, no one was there when I wanted to leave 10 mins later. AND the lights which I switched on at the first floor was now off. And it was quite dark. Spooky. And very quiet. This scene looked like a scene in any good horror movie.

I went to the toilet, wash up, quietly hummed to myself. My eyes were scanning the area for any possible encounter. Nothing. Made it to the toilet. Then as I was at the main door, when I remembered that I didn't switch the toilet lights off. Swearing to myself and screwing my courage to my highest point, I made my way to the toilet again and this time, mumbling any prayers I know. Yes, God exists and I leave that place in one piece. Pheeeeweeeuuuuu!

i'll never forget that *tosca cover... when i was doing my last OT alone in MA, i just wanna break the scary silence by putting in any CD... then i found 1 on *aloof's desk & the cover gave me a creep... t o s c a ...the invisible band...

I was listening to Tosca's Suzuki last night. One of my most enjoyable moments when I buy CDs is to admire, flip and read, word for word the contents of the CD. I'm a sucker for trivia. I might look which artists or musical influences this particular artist mentioned in the credits. I know whether he's an obedient son when he thanked his parents. But when he' did not...I mean who cares right? And of course I want to know who designed the packaging of the CD. This principle applies to most of the movies I've seen or bought.

Enough about that. Have you seen the cover of the Tosca album? It really is beautiful....Rupert Huber and Richard Dorfmeister wrapped in bathrobes with the Tosca logo stiched on their chests, and thats all. They looked like the invisible man.

And this album is dedicated to Shunryu Suzuki. So I did a quick search at Google and this is what I found. I'm enjoying this album all over again.

Music to recommend.
Leila - Something
Break me up for little piece of something,
I want to lose my mind,
Won't you please be careful,
Cause there's things I don't wanna find.

Leila is the rare female electronica songwriter that doesn't sing, choosing instead for her album Like Weather to use vocals from friends and even her own sister. Born in Iran, she spent part of her childhood there but was forced to flee to London with her family. She became interested in DJing as well as keyboards, and left college to play with Björk on her first album, 1994's Debut. Leila graduated to sound engineer for the second Björk LP, and began setting up her own home studio. Signed to Rephlex Records for a solo album, she released the single "Don't Fall Asleep" in 1997 and Like Weather the following year. Love Story appeared in 1999. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide

Peace Orchestra - Meister Petz
Stunning number by Peter Kruder, one half of the super Austrian DJ duo, Kruder & Dorfmeister. With a pounding, slowed-down drum'n'bass beat, complete with congas, a slap-happy bass line, and wailing horns, Kruder builds a monster of track that never gets stale. The album cover showed an actual band-aid etched with the word, Peace Orchestra. This music won't heal the world, but it will heal you when you're down.

I'm scouring songs for a future compilation mix CD....maybe. Aloof recommends Amon Tobin Saboteur. It will play very well at Liquid Room. Remember DJ Pollywog from the movie Groove? Well, she's a human robot now, in an interactive experiment. Read more about it.

Pi is both the sixteenth letter of the Greek alphabet and the symbol which represents the world's oldest mathematical mystery: the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter.

The earliest known written record of the ratio comes from 1650 BCE Egypt, where a scribe calculated the value to be 3.16 (a mere 1% off the true value). Although now, we have methods to calculate the digits of pi (3.1415...) its exact value remains a mystery.

Since 1794, when it was proven that Pi was both irrational and infinite, people have been searching for a pattern in the endless string of numbers.

As it turns out, Pi can be found everywhere, from astronomy to probability to the physics of sound and light. To date it has been calculated to over 51 billion digits, so far with no discernible pattern emerging from its numbers. In fact, the first time that the sequence 123456789 appears, it is over 500 million digits into the ratio. Calculating the digits to millions of decimal places is now used to test computers for bugs in hardware and software (which is how Intel's Pentium found a chip bug a few years ago).

If you prefer to calculate Pi the old fashioned way, you're not alone. Hundreds of clubs have been formed to celebrate and calculate the ratio, many of which require a good deal of sequence memorization in order to join. The current world record for pi memorization was made in 1995, when a Japanese man recited 42,000 digits from memory in just over nine hours.

From the director of Requiem For A Dream, Pi is a story about a mathematican gone insane. You have to get the VCD to view it. Unfortunately, I don't have it. So if anyone knows someone who has it, kill that guy and bring the VCD to me. Yes, I believe the movie is that good.

They held each other and kissed
And pushed each others' darkness in a corner,
Believing in each others' light, each others' dream.

-Hubert Selby, Jr
He's the guy who wrote the book, Requiem For A Dream. Beautiful.

I can play pool better now than ever. I got so much free time now that I can hone this talent to perfection. I wanna join the competition and win $5000. Hah!
The only thing I hate when playing pool is that people take the game seriously. I mean come on.....the world economy won't be affected if you did not pot that number 8! Feels like being in a gym with mirrors, full of narcisstic men.

There's a new link on my blog page, named martians, placed at the pull down menu. Check it out!

Requiem
a. A mass for a deceased person.
b. A musical composition for such a mass.
c. A hymn, composition, or service for the dead.

Requiem For A Dream has got to be the most compelling and mesmerising movie I've seen this year. I have no idea what the story is about, I remembered only the poster hanging at Orchard Cineplex. And after the first 15 minutes, it's about drugs and I know how the story ends like. But this movie weaves like magic. You'll feel for all the characters in the movie, whether they steal to get money to buy the drugs or in the case of the girlfriend, whoring herself to get money and drugs. And the mother who lives alone who decides to lose weight after a phonecall saying that she will appear on television. She too went to extremes just to fit into her fav red dress. And the music is really nice....aggresive violins with electro beats in the background. If you like morbid, dark story, this gem of a movie is showing at Orchard Cineplex.

And then there's the website. You will appreciate the site only after you have watched the movie. It a brilliant piece of work, not in terms of graphics used but the idea behind the site. And it won the D&D Silver Award for this site. Designed by Hi-Res.

A man with a cardboard box is sitting at a bar...
A second man joins him and asks what's in the box. The first man opens it and inside there is a guy abt a foot tall playing a piano. Amazed, the second man asks how he got it. The first man hands him a lantern and says there is a genie inside who will grant him one wish. The second guys rubs the lantern and asks for a million bucks. Within seconds, the pub is filled with ducks.

"I think this genie is deaf," the first guy says. "You don't think I asked for a 12-inch pianist, do you?"
